January has been amazing. Our community is thriving; there's new life everywhere we turn and each day is full of surprises. This weekend we are hosting our first art pop-up called Works on Paper. Six local artists will be displaying their work in our art studio and our healing suite! This is an excellent opportunity for you to come and support these artisans and see our new space. There will be light refreshments and you might even get an opportunity to meet some of the new Sol Space-affiliated faces (rumor has it that there might be some chair massages happening Saturday morning 10-12).
Speaking of new faces, on Friday Caitlyn will be offering massage at Sol Space! I know a lot of you have expressed interest in booking a massage here and here's your opportunity! She'll be with us one day per week to start, rotating between Friday and Saturday every other week.
E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or call: 609-221-0225 to schedule your massage with her (mention Sol Space when you do!).
We're also currently bookings Reiki appointments! If you're curious, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or just make yourself an appointment and see firsthand what all the fuss is about. You won't be sorry you did.
For those of you who practice regularly with us, there are some things shifting for you that are important for you to know about!
Wednesday evening chakra flow is transitioning to Midweek Reboot. This will be a hatha style inspired class where folks will connect with breath to find steadiness in yoga poses. This class moves more slowly than a traditional vinyasa class but is not necessarily "gentle."
Tuesday morning's gentle flow class will be taught by Christie Distefano. She will be starting mid February, teaching this class as well as offering Reiki at Sol Space. Christie earned both her 200 hour and her 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training from yogawood and she is excited to share the extensive experience she has gained while teaching over 1000 hours of yoga to students over the last 7+ years.
Wednesday evening's gentle flow class will be taken over by Marvin Clark, who has been teaching the Thursday morning gentle flow class as well as the Friday morning adaptive class here at Sol Space.
Saturday morning vinyasa will be taken over by Sharyn Infanti, who is currently teaching the Wednesday evening chakra flow class and used to teach early morning vinyasa.
How you enter the studio and where you store your personal items is changing. Starting next week, you'll use the inside hallway door to enter the yoga studio. We ask that you take your shoes off in the hallway and you'll be able to store your personal items in the studio during classes. If you arrive at class early or you'd like to stay for a few minutes after class, please grab a mug and have a cup of tea or a piece of fruit in our healing suite down the hall.
There are about 20,000 more things I could talk about. But I'll leave you with just a bit on nutrition counseling.
Quite a few people have taken advantage of our New Years Resolution promotion (you've got 3 more days). This package not only comes with unlimited classes for three full months, but it includes a nutrition consultation. People have been curious about what this consultation entails and whether or not it can be purchased on its own. So here's how nutrition counseling works. You come in for your first consultation (normally $35 but free with the package) which is 45 minutes long. During the consultation you can expect to:
briefly assess current patterns and behaviors around eating
briefly outline any goals you may have
discuss the meaning and importance of whole foods
discuss in depth macro nutrients and the roles they play in fueling the body
During the consultation, we can also determine whether further and more regular nutrition/health counseling would be beneficial. Additional counseling sessions are $30 for a half hour (or $25 if purchased in a package of 4). Frequency is determined by client and contingent upon client goals. Partners are welcome to attend sessions together and parents are welcome to bring willing teenaged children.
All of these words, and they don't even begin to scratch the surface. You'll have to come and see it all for yourself to really get a feel for the amazing things happening within our ever expanding community. It's only as good as its members.... though I'll just go ahead and assure you: it's so good.
OH ONE LAST THING! Women's Circle. This Sunday. 5-6:15. Yes... I know it's Super Bowl Sunday. Hopefully the football gods forgive our scheduling blunder.
We'll see you soon!!
